TerraOverview interpretation: high emissions scenario (SSP3-7.0), thirty years centred on 2050
SSP3-7.0 is a high emissions pathway, in which climate policy stays weak and international cooperation weakens; in the IPCC’s sixth assessment it is not the upper extreme, but it is the common reference for a world without additional policy. It is shown beside SSP1-2.6 and never alone: which of the two pathways to consider plausible is the reader’s judgement, and showing only one would be making it for them. The values are the mean change expected in the cell between 2036-2065 and 1985-2014, from a single climate model and therefore with no range between models beside them. This is a scenario, not a forecast.
