TerraOverview interpretation: earthquakes with ruinous effects observed in a locality within 5 km of the point
The Italian Macroseismic Database records, for a locality within 5 kilometres of the point — a distance TerraOverview chose — at least one earthquake of intensity 8 or above on the MCS scale, the degree at which the scale describes buildings ruined and partial collapses. An intensity is the effect observed in that settlement, not a measurement at the address, and it does not say whether or when it will happen again. The observations are listed strongest first, with the year, the epicentral area and the magnitude CPTI15 gives that earthquake. Those below intensity 4 are not listed.
