TerraOverview interpretation: municipality classified as a radon priority area (art. 11, D.Lgs. 101/2020)

The municipality containing the point has been classified as a priority area by the competent authority: this means that in that municipality more than 15% of buildings are estimated to exceed 300 Bq/m³ of radon as an annual average. It is a classification of the municipal territory, not a measurement of the property: concentrations vary greatly even between neighbouring buildings, and knowing a building’s requires a direct measurement, preferably over a year. In priority areas D.Lgs. 101/2020 extends measurement obligations to workplaces on basement and ground floors.
